Yi Hsuan Lin

bio | resumé
Yi Hsuan Lin, originally from Taiwan, recently graduated from the Art Center College of Design with a Bachelor of Science in Product Design. He is currently working at Whipsaw Inc. in San Jose, California. His designs are inspired by the interactions between people and the products they use. Besides seeing products as a medium for expressing emotions, and communicating thoughts, he also seeks the essence of objects and observes how designs can evoke people’s perception.
Yi’s interest in design really started from his first job in Taiwan where he had a lot of interaction with product designers. They inspired him to go to the Art Center and become a product designer. While at the Art Center he interned at Philips Design in Singapore for 3 months. Besides gaining a lot of hands-on experience at Philips design, he enjoyed the multi-cultural experience of Singapore. From those experiences and what he learned from school, he entered the Billes Products International Design Competition and won 2nd place. His long term goal is to be a successful designer optimizing objects and harmonizing products with people and the environment.
